3 Body Transformation Secrets You Should Know
There is no secret routine or supplement that you need to take to be successful in your body transformation journey.
But since I stepped foot into the fitness world over 15 years ago I have found 3 “secrets” or tips to be successful in your health and fitness journey.
Disclaimer: these secrets are out but they need to be reiterated to fight the shiny new 7 day miracle pill or program that just came out.
Secret 1: Work hard.
No one ever said it would be easy, right?
So no surprise the first secret is to work hard. Not every workout will be a personal best but it’s important to feel like you still worked hard.
This is where you could measure the work out with a RPE, rating of perceived exertion.
The goal of each workout is to work hard and create stress on the body. That stress is the stimulus that will drive changes to happen like lose fat or build muscle.
Secret 2: Consistency
The reason why there’s no one specific way to get the fitness goals or body transformation you want is because a plan without action will not get you any results.
Start with realistic expectations and ask yourself, how much exercise can you actually fit into a week?
Plan it. Then get after it.
Consistently doing health and fitness habits is the key to success. Each day whether a workout is a personal best or not, it’s important that you’re checking off that you did it.
Joe Rogan said a beautiful thing; “People don’t need motivation, they need discipline.”
It’s true we all want things, we don’t need motivation to want any more. We need discipline to keep going after it.
So don’t punish yourself for the days you barely get it done, to be able to say you consistently did it is what matters most.
A lot of people are willing to accept that a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step but then get impatient with how many steps they have to take to complete their journey.
Body Transformation Secret 3: If you are gonna put in an extra mile, match it in recovery.
Recovery is the single most important focus to have after each workout. Recovery is the time where all the desired body transformation effects happen: ie build muscle or reduce body fat.
How you recover will also help prepare your body for the next workout session.
I’m not saying don’t ride the momentum to do another set or run another mile. But I see too many people work really hard and not focus enough on recovery then eventually fall off because of injury or burnout.
3 areas to focus on to recover outside of training are: sleep, hydration and nutrition.
Make sure you are hitting all your recovery goals in those areas to put your body in the best position to successfully change.
